Moon in Ninth House

MoonMoon: If the Moon is lord of the 9th house, or is in the 9th and dignified or received, especially if it is in sect, then the nature of Plato's "Other" is magnified, and the native sees a new truth not accepted by the masses. An example of this was Martin Luther with the Moon in Taurus in the 9th, at night. Upon seeing the hypocrisy in the Catholic church of earning cleansing from sin, he took a stand posting his 95 theses upon the door of the church and risking excommunication. Because of the great dignity of the Moon, his movement won and led to Lutheranism. The Moon here is often and indication of writing talent (according to Gauquelin) and an ability to appeal to the masses. Imagination runs very high here! But if the Moon is out of sect, debilitated or afflicted then it leads to the exile of the native from his native land. According to Paulus: "...when the Moon is present there, making an application to one of the malefics, or to the star of Hermes, it makes for those who live abroad". [41] This was a much less positive outcome in ancient times than it is today, where being away from home was often like a death sentence.
