Saturn: If Saturn is lord of this place, or present here and of the sect, then according to Paulus: "...it produces those who attain their ends as time goes on, but it will make them more idle in their work and enterprises". [69] Saturn here has the effect of restricting social involvement. According to modern sources, it is an indication of friends who may be in trouble, or in some sort of financial difficulty. This makes it rather difficult for the native to make successful acquisitions because potential spenders are limited in the resources they are able to trade. Here Saturn also produces a feeling that there needs to be a purpose for any social occasion and there is generally a lack of spontaniety, or they tend to talk shop. At night the situation is generally worse, according to Paulus: "...it causes the diminuition of what was formerly posessed, and it will make those who are slothful, unsuccessful, and unable to acquire property". [70] Because of Saturns excessively cold nature, there is a decrease of activity in the social and financial areas. The excessive dryness produces distinctions that separate the native from involvement with others. This individual tends not to make alliances and will generally prefer to go it alone.
