Sun in Eighth House

Sun: If the Sun is in the 8th or is lord of the 8th, and is dignified, and of the sect, it shows a high potential for marrying someone who is well off, and sometimes the good fortune to be able to survive upon anothers estate. Because the Sun represents Nous, sometimes there is the ability to expose secrets and to see clearly into occult or hidden matters. But if the Sun is out of sect or in debility in this place, then according to Paulus: "... it shows the abandonment of the father, injury, suffering or premature death...". [31] The idea here is that the father (the Sun) is in aversion to the native (1st house) and may be hard to reach. Premature death probably comes from the belief that the Sun represents life, but is caught in a place that is in aversion to life (the 1st house). If the Sun is debilitated or afflicted in this place it may indicate that the father dies before the mother.
