Venus in Twelfth House

Venus: If Venus is lord of this place or is present, it shows that the native prefers to keep their affections private. In some cases it signifys that the native will be prone to secret liasons and affairs that the public would not approve of. Often there is a relationship that can be destructive and bring the native down if the sordid details come to light. This makes the native vulnerable to blackmail, another trait of Venus in this position. According to Paulus: " ...it will make those who are tormented by feminine excuses - namely those who are amorous. And they have intercourse with slaves, old women and courtesans, and for this reason they go through their lives without children". [79] I wonder if Thomas Jefferson had this? On the plus side, this seems to minimize the chance of secret enemies trying to undo the native, as there tends not to be real hatred. If blackmail happens, it would be opportunistic. If Scorpio also rises after Venus in the 12th the native may prefer to be alone and enjoys peace and serenity.
